“The way Beyoncé received me on the first day we met in New York, people won’t believe even if I told them. We shôt our music video in New York City. When I met Beyoncé, she looked like a normal African chîck. When she saw me, she was like “Hello Shatta, how are you? Is there anything you need?” Before I went there I and my team had prepared on what I’d say so it wasn’t hard for me to reply. After that, I immediately ran outside, screāmed at the top of my voice and pinched myself multiple times. Then when I went back in, Beyoncé was asking me how Africa was and I told her how beautiful Ghana is and that everybody loves her. So she said she would come to Ghana after going to South Africa. Later, she requested for a picture from me and when we took the picture and posted it, Ghanaians said it was photoshopped. Just because Beyoncé touched me, I spent a week without bathing, I felt like I was Jay Z.” Shatta Wale
